The Certification process and criteria

How is a company granted RALA Certification?

RALA Certification can be applied for a system that mostly corresponds with its evaluation criteria.

1. The company writes up a description of its key procedures and self-evaluates them using the RALA evaluation criteria.

2. The company fills in the Certification application online and sends it to RALA with all necessary attachments.

3. RALA processes the application and agrees on an audit.

4. RALA conducts a first audit of the company's business locations.

5. The RALA Certification Board decides whether to grant the Certification to the functions covered in the audit.

How long is a RALA Certificate valid?

A RALA Certificate is valid for a maximum period of three years, assuming that the company continues to comply with the terms and conditions of the Certification. Compliance with the terms and conditions of the Certification is verified through annual follow-up audits.

What are the evaluation criteria for RALA Certification?

The evaluation criteria are presented as demands for corporate and project management. They cover the special characteristics of the industry and the demands set by clients. The audit addresses areas such as quality assurance and the management of safety and environmental matters. The audit also covers development of operations, resources, bidding, contract and procurement activities as well as project work.

The RALA Certification can be granted to a company’s quality management system, environmental system, health and safety system or moisture control system. The evaluation criteria are therefore presented separately. Thus, the different certifications are to be acquired separately.
